My Place of Overflow in Dry Times!

Isaiah 58:11

The LORD will always lead you and satisfy your needs in dry lands. He will give strength to your bones. You will be like a garden that has plenty of water, like a spring that never goes dry.

living waters 1

God has blessed us with such an abundance, John 7:38 proves that to come to Christ and drink is the same as to believe on Him.  We, who believe on Him will have our own needs supplied and will receive rivers of spiritual blessings that will flow out from us to others.  The expression “out of his belly (heart) will flow rivers of living water” means out of our inward parts or inner life would flow streams of help to others.  We drink in small gulps or sips, but these are multiplied into a mighty union of flowing streams.   “No one can be indwelt by the Spirit of God and keep that Spirit to himself.  Where the Spirit is, He flows forth.

We feel that we are all spent, tapped out, dried up with nothing else to give to ourselves nor anyone else; but if we begin to tap into our rivers of living water through our praise, we will find out that we are not empty at all.  We just needed to let our praise be stirred up to wake up and activate God’s overflow.  We are always looking for praise and worship leaders, pastors, ministers and other outside sources to bring or pull the praise up out of us.  We come to church Sunday after Sunday expecting other sources to praise God for us and we will get into the praise if it pleases us. Praise is not silent; praise is an action word ~ Meaning to participate with a sound or movement, (Psalms 150).  When we begin to praise God three (3) things happen when we involve ourselves in praise.

  • Praise will take our mind off our problems and shortcomings and brings our focus back to God.
  • Lead us from individual mediation to corporate worship.
  • Causes us to consider and appreciate God for who He Is and it will definitely lift our perspective from the earthly to the heavenly.

How long will we constantly be in lack when all we have to do is begin to tap into the well on the inside of us and praise God.  Doors will Open, Answers are obtained, Breakthroughs and Miracles are wrought, and list the goes on.

What will you do, when the praise and worship leader is not there to guide you into praise?

Psalms 149

Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;

To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;

To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.
