It Takes The Love Of God to Bring Out The Best In Us!
Hope…In Spite of My Dysfunction!
“But Moses said, “ O Lord, please send someone else to do it.” Exodus 4:13
“But Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her family and all who belonged to her, because she hid the men Joshua had sent as spies to Jericho…” Joshua 6:25
“A record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ…. Boaz, whose mother was Rahab,” Matthew 1:1, 5
“… Apart from Me you can do nothing.” (Jesus Christ) John 15:5
“… Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (Apostle Paul) 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
GOD USES DYSFUNCTIONAL PEOPLE
Thank God that He uses
dysfunctional people like me!
I am flawed, sinful,
imperfect, weak
and, yes,
Yet, the God of the universe
uses me.
He speaks through me.
He uses my hands.
That is such amazing grace!
How true that
His strength is made perfect in weakness.
He used Moses, who said,
“Please send someone else.”
He used Rahab, the prostitute.
He used Paul, the murderer.
He uses the good, the bad, and the ugly
who are willing to yield to Him.
He uses the heart
cleansed by the blood of Jesus,
humbled by its sinfulness,
aware of its weakness,
standing needy before Him.
He uses the brokenhearted,
the one who has failed,
the one who knows,
“I can do nothing apart from Christ.”
He uses the one who can say,
“Not my will, but Yours be done.”
God delights in the
heart that comes to Him
aware it is helpless before Him
but also that
God can do anything.
God works through the
humble heart so
that He receives all the
glory, honor and praise.
He does it all from beginning to end.
It has nothing to do with ability,
knowledge, intelligence, experience,
talent, money, social standing,
or how good we are.
God works through the
one who stands before Him
aware that without Him
they are helpless, hopeless,
poor, blind and naked.
The one who says,
“ I am not capable of doing this.”
“Father, please do it through me,”
and then steps out in faith
trusting in God alone.
God loves to use
dysfunctional people
like you and me.
Reflection
Are you dysfunctional? Do you feel weak?
If so, then you are just the person God is looking for!
Yield to His strength today!
Prayer for today:
Father, Thank You that You are my strength. I confess that I can do nothing apart from Your grace and power. I give to You my strengths, my weaknesses, my failures, my gifts and my helplessness. Please work through me to do Your will and may You receive all the glory. Let Your will be done, Lord, not mine.
